Your Food and Filtered water:

Does it really make a difference?

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a mountain spring running right into your kitchen faucet?  If you think fresh clean water already comes out of your faucet you are mistaken! Household tap water is filled with dangerous chemicals and micro- organisms! Let’s be honest, mountain spring water, chemical free, and delicious as it is, might be a little difficult to hook up to your home faucet.  However, delicious, clean, and pure water is available to you with a whole home water filter!

Experience the difference you’re cooking will have with filtered water!  Here are a few facts about cooking food and preparing beverages with filtered water:

When water containing chlorine comes into contact with old and leaky pipes, it forms highly carcinogenic Tri-halomethanes (Note: when a substance is deemed as carcinogenic it means it is known to cause cancer).  A similar result occurs when you cook food in chlorinated water.  (Note: All unfiltered tap water contains chlorine in order to kill the majority of micro- organisms.)  However, these harmful by-products also form when you cook food in or with unfiltered water.   New international research is finding that even boiling chlorinated water can increase the Tri–halomethanes in the water substantially. Filtered water has no chlorine and other dangerous chemicals so you don’t have to worry about any cancer causing Tri- halomethanes!

Did you know that almost all fine restaurants use filtered water for their cooking and beverages?  The truth is, top chefs can taste the difference filtered water has in coffee, teas, and other beverages.  Beverages are found to have stronger flavors and decreased steeping times when made with filtered water.  Other foods that show noticeable differences are pastas and rice, which cook faster and have a creamier texture.  And don’t forget, chlorinated water also seeps into food when it is used for washing off fruits and vegetables!

Filtered water also has benefits to fruits, vegetables, and other plants that are still growing.  And if you start with a healthy plant, and then cook it in filtered water; you are that much closer to a healthy and prosperous life! Here are some healthy plant facts:

-         Some studies show that plants can survive longer in a vase of filtered water than unfiltered (weeks in some cases)

-         Root development may double or even triple

-         Growth may increase by up to 30%

-         Resistance to disease and fungus is decreased

In conclusion, using filtered water for cooking and preparing beverages is healthier and safer for you and your family.  Remember: a home water filter not only gives you filtered water for drinking and cooking, but for bathing and outdoor fun as well! Drink up, stay healthy, and have fun!
