Combat Conditioning Book and DVDs by Matt Furey

 Combat Conditioning

Combat Conditioning is a bodyweight exercise program offered by Matthew Furey.  I was introduced to Matt by a former co-worker three years ago.  At the time, I was going to the gym regularly to lift weights and the workout facility that I belonged to had announced they were going to double the annual fee for gym membership.

Well, I didn’t feel it was worth paying the extra money, so I began looking for alternatives.  So, my co-workers recommendation came right on time.  I went to Matt’s site and ordered the book and DVDs.

After the first week of doing the Hindu Pushups and Hindu Squats, I was sore for days despite the fact that I come from an athletic background. I played football for LSU from 1994-1995 and I ran track in high school and briefly in college. During that time, I benched 315lbs and squatted 465lbs. I also had a vertical leap of 37 inches, second on the football team! I don’t say that to brag, I say that to be clear that I’m no slouch.

Anyway, the soreness was different than what I experienced from weightlifting. It actually felt good, believe it or not.  Well, I continued to perform these exercises and I noticed that I became more flexible, developed strength, and endurance in the process. I was really pleased with the results I was getting.  And I wasn’t the only one noticing.

To this day, people still assume I go to a gym to workout.  When I tell them I work out at home, the next question is, “What do you do?”  When I demonstrate the Hindu Pushups, Handstand Pushups, and Hindu Squats, people notice right away that I have total command of my bodyweight.  I agree with Matt when he says,

“If you can’t handle your own body weight, you shouldn’t be pushing weights.”

I’ve seen guys in the gym that can bench press 400lbs but can’t even do one pull-up!  I know guys who tore their rotator cuffs from bench pressing.  I’ve come across guys who have ruined their bodies from heavy weightlifting.

If you’re looking for an effective and safer alternative to weight lifting, then I recommend that you get a copy of Combat Conditioning!
